After the terrible events in Japan, many individuals around the world are taking steps to provide as much aid and as many supplies as possible. As a means to help efforts, Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Services have allowed Caroline Pover, a local businesswoman, to utilise one of their Vauxhall Combo vehicles with its van insurance as she collects supplies to send to the Japanese people.
In the wake of the Japanese Tsunami, thousands of people have been left without even the most basic of supplies. Trowbridge based Hitachi Capital, owned by Japanese parent company Hitachi, and has now donated the use of one of their vehicles to aid efforts. Whilst Hitachi has already donated more than $3m to the cause, the small Trowbridge company has made a more personal step. Local businesswoman Caroline Pover is currently collecting supplies by travelling the length and breadth of Britain and is over the moon with the donation.
“The van donated by Hitachi Capital is absolutely crucial to my work. It took less than three days from me making the initial enquiry call to collecting the vehicle. I have been overwhelmed by the company’s positive and encouraging attitude,” Ms Pover explained.
It is important to note that Hitachi Capital have also transferred van insurance details to Ms Pover and covered the expenses. It is vital for any company wishing to make similar steps to change their van insurance accordingly to ensure cover for the correct driver in case of an accident. However, for Hitachi Capital and Ms Pover, their combined aid efforts will bring much needed supplies to Japan.
